I was inspired by the Gull River Rapids near Minden, Ontario - in the Haliburton Highlands. I also used this series to experiment with a new way of presenting soft pastels without having to frame behind glass. These "pastels for the dishwasher" were the result of many experiments, and the method is outline on my "Tips and Techniques" page. The method has been published in the newsletter of the Pastel Artists.ca and appeared in a similar publication in New Zealand.
Each painting is executed with Soft Pastel, Acrylic, Silver Leaf and Collage on wood panel and (professionally) covered in resin.
