I am one of those artists who would love to give the title "untitled" to all my paintings - or just number them…. as I have done with my lotus paintings in oil and pastel. Calling them Lotus #1, #2, … is easy, but not inspiring. And there aren't enough of them yet to impress the art world with titles like Lotus 467.
If you have any good suggestions for titles that could enhance the work, let me know...
My latest series, The Lotus Position, continues to grow. Just finished the latest pastel/oil on paper (#6), and thought I'd share with you.
Don't forget to join me at the Colour and Form Society's 2013 Open Juried Exhibition reception on Sunday, November 17 at 2:00 pm. Susan and I both have work in the show - which they tell me is gorgeous ( refer to the show, not my work).
This December, I will be exhibiting my work in the Ontario Society of Artists New Members Show at the John B. Aird Gallery. This promises to be a wonderful show, and I hope you will come out to support the artists and the OSA
Every year the John B. Aird Gallery in Toronto holds its Mistletoe Magic fundraiser before Christmas. This is a great event - lots of people - lots of buzz and lots of affordable art by excellent Ontario artists. Susan and I always support the show with donations of our art. I encourage you to participate. Join us, have a glass of wine and some nibbles, and bid in the silent auction for your favourite works of art. Who knows? You may get a deal. You will enjoy! And you will support the gallery.
